Application for Out of Zone
enrolments for 2013
The Board has determined that there will be a limited number
of places available for out of zone enrolments during 2013. It
is likely there will be 4 places available for Year 0/1.
Enrolment at the school is governed by an enrolment scheme,
details of which are available from the school office.
Application for places must be made on the application form
available from Kohimarama School Office - 5285306. The
deadline for receipt of applications for out of zone places is
Monday 15th of October 2012. If the number of out of zone
applicants exceeds the number of places available, students
will be selected by ballot. If a ballot is required it will be held
on Tuesday 23rd October 2012.

Enrolment Procedure for 2013
Parents interested in enrolling their son or daughter for the 2013 school year are invited to note the following:
The Prospectus and application forms for enrolment will be distributed to contributing schools and will also be available
at the school office from Friday 1 June 2012.
In zone applications for Year 9-13 should be received by Wednesday 5 September 2012.
All applicants are to provide verification of place of residence. Owners/occupiers must supply a copy of current rates account and
a recent electricity account. Those renting or leasing must include a copy of the current rental or lease agreement and a recent electricity
account. A rental or lease agreement must show the date the tenancy commenced and the period of tenancy.
Out of Zone applications must be received at Glendowie College reception of fice by 4:00pm Wednesday 5 September 2012.
If required a ballot will take place on Wednesday 12 September 2012. All applicants will be notified in writing of their place in the ballot.
The college may have a number of out-of-zone places for Years 9, 11, 12 and 13 for 2013.
There will be NO places offered for out-of-zone Year 10 enrolments for 2013.
All domestic students of secondary school age up to the age stated in law at which a free education ceases who live within the following
defined home zone as detailed below and as described on the map which is on the website or available from Glendowie College reception.
• Glendowie and St Heliers: bounded by West Tamaki Road, Grampian Road, Allum Street from Grampian Road, Melanesia Road
from Allum Street to Sage Road, Sage Road, and the coastline from Sage Road to West Tamaki Road. Both sides of the boundary road will
be considered to be in the in zone.
• St Johns Park: bounded by St Johns Road, Remuera Road, Koraha Street, Abbotts Way, Ngahue Drive and College Road
(These boundary roads are excluded and therefore not considered to be within the in zone). Streets that fall within these boundary roads
will be considered to be in the in zone.
2. Out of Zone Enrolments
If places are available applications for enrolment will be processed in the following order of priority.
First Priority Not applicable at Glendowie College because the school does not operate a special programme approved by the
secretary for Education.
Second Priority Will be given to applicants who are siblings of current students.
Third Priority Will be given to applicants who are siblings of former students.
Fourth Priority Will be given to applicants who are children of former students of the school
Fifth Priority Will be given to applicants who are children of board employees or children of a member of the board of the school.
Sixth Priority Will be given to all other applicants.
If there are more applicants in the second, third, fourth, fifth or sixth priority groups than there are places available, selection within the
priority group will be by a ballot conducted in accordance with instructions issued by the Secretary under Section 11G (1) of the Education
Act 1989. Applicants seeking second or third priority status are required to give proof of a sibling relationship. Applicants seeking fourth
priority status may be required to give proof of enrolment.
