EAST & BAYS COURIER, MAY 2, 2012
Applications for Admission to
Year 7, 2013
Pre-enrolment and Balloting
The Board of Trustees invites applications from parents who
wish to enrol their sons and daughters at Remuera
Intermediate School for 2013.
The deadline for receipt of applications for out of zone places
is Monday 15 October 2012. However, we would appreciate
all applications being returned by Friday 27 July 2012.
Parents of students who live within the home zone should
apply by this date to assist the school to plan appropriately for
next year, although students who live in the home zone are
entitled to enrol at the school.
The Board has determined that places are likely to be
available for out of zone students next year. The exact number
of places will depend on the number of applications received
from students who live within the school's home zone.
Applications from out of zone students will be processed in the
following order of priority:
First priority will be given to applicants who are siblings of
Second priority will be given to applicants who are siblings of
Third priority will be given to any applicant who is a child of a
former student (this was a new priority introduced by the
Ministry of Education for 2012 enrolments)
Fourth priority will be given to applicants who are children of
Staff and Board members
Fifth priority will be given to all other applicants
It is likely the number of out of zone applications will again
exceed the number of places available, therefore students will
be selected by ballot. In this case the ballot will be held on
Tuesday 23 October 2012. Parents will be informed in writing
of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the
ballot being held.
Application forms are available from Victoria Avenue School,
Remuera Primary School, Meadowbank School, Cornwall
Park School and the Remuera Intermediate School Office --
phone 522 9890.
Please telephone Liz Davis 522 9890 regarding any Year 8
aplications for 2013.
Our Open Day is being held on the morning of Friday 22 June
2012 between 8.45am and 11am. All prospective students
and their caregivers are encouraged to attend.
