WHEN EVERY SECOND COUNTS...
Alarm Activation at School
At almost midnight a school hall in Remuera was the scene of
a break-in. The intruder activated the security alarm and the
Matrix Security call centre immediately dispatched multiple
patrols. The offender fled the scene and was prevented from
committing any theft or further damage. The point of entry was
repaired and the school was checked and secured. Additional
monitoring occurred throughout the evening.

ON THE BEAT
WAI O TAIKI
It's cannabis season
The cannabis growing season has
begun, and it is likely that homes and
properties around Auckland will be
used to grow cannabis plants. Con-
cerned community members can assist
police by noting unusual activity.
Suspicious activity to be aware of
can include strange vehicles driving up
and down the road or parked on the
roadside, curtains being closed fre-
quently, unusual odours coming from
houses and lots of people visiting dur-
ing the day and night.
Expensive security or surveillance
gear might be installed where you
might not expect to see it and if you're
a landlord or visitor you may be
unexpectedly denied access.
You may notice a significant amount
of plastic wrap or polystyrene waste
outside the property, or if you are a
landlord, you may notice a significant
increase in power or water consump-
tion at the premises.
If you can do so without risking your
own personal safety, it is helpful if you
can get details of suspicious vehicles
involved including registration
numbers, colour and make/model.
Call your local police station or the
Crimestoppers line on 0800-555-111.
