Technician Team Leader

Permanent, full-time 1.0 FTE (37.5 hours per week)
Do you have the drive to lead a high performing team? If so, our School of
Applied Sciences would like to hear from you.
You will manage the technical support operation for the School of Applied
Sciences to ensure the goals and objectives of the school are met and also
assist lecturers with the provision of laboratory classes. You will also provide
advice and support to our project/research students.
This role directs and super vises the team of technicians in the school,
and liaises with academic and technical staff across the school in regard to
the use and development of the facilities and their equipment.
Effective performance will result in the smooth running of the laboratory and
fieldwork associated with the schools programmes and will assist lecturers
to deliver quality educational experiences to their students in order to meet

Clinical Trials Research Unit
The Clinical Trials Research Unit is located within the School of Population Health
at The University of Auckland Tamaki campus. The Unit is focussed on innovative
research aiming to reduce the major risks to health.
An opportunity is available for two Research Assistants to work on a research study
aimed at reducing the amount of time children spend in front of screens such as
TV, computers etc., and to determine the effect on body composition, sedentary
behaviour, physical activity and nutrition.
The successful candidates should ideally have a quali cation in health or work
experience in a similar role. The role involves recruiting participants from the
community, delivering components of the intervention, data collection and data
entry. In some instances this may mean working outside normal working hours
and/or in the weekend.
You will need good organisational skills, be reliable and on time for appointments
and work as part of a team. The role requires excellent communication and people
skills and experience in working with Maori and/or Paci c communities would be an
