Notification of Water Supply
Attention Orakei and Remuera customers.
4am Wednesday 3 November - 6pm Friday 5 November
Watercare is undertaking crucial work over a three day period,
from 4am Wednesday 3 November - 6pm Friday 5
November, to connect a new section of watermain in Orakei
to the existing network. This work is necessary as part of the
wider Mt Wellington Water Supply Upgrade Project.
The required work may cause discoloured water. While this
water is safe to drink, it is recommended that you run an
outside tap at full flow for 3-5 minutes until it clears, and check
the water before using the washing machine.
You could also find that the water pressure is lower than usual
during this connection period and may notice, for example, the
toilet is taking longer to fill.
Thank you for your ongoing cooperation and patience.
If you have any concerns during this period, please
contact Watercare's 24 hour Customer Services
Centre on (09) 442 2222.

Finishing touch: Five-year-old Jackie Lourens has her face
painted by one of the fairies at the Remuera Spring
Market Day on October 16.

Hundreds of people enjoyed the sunshine and carnival
atmosphere. More than $2000 was raised for Remuera
Plunket through donations at Rotary's sausage sizzle,
Sweetie's candy floss and a bouncy castle at the library.
Whopping good effort: Placemakers gave away a
$400,000 super cheque to the Prostate Cancer
Foundation on October 20. It was the grand finale to Blue
September. The company raised money and awareness
for the foundation through a corporate breakfast, a power
tool drag racing competition, an online builder's crack
beauty pageant and by auctioning off a three-bedroom
house. They blitzed their original goal of raising
$100,000. From left: Auckland mayor Len Brown, sports
presenter Murray Deaker, foundation president Mark von
